Install Vericto Proxy mode (local, PostgreSQL) in Zed
What you need first
- Zed, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with.
Steps
- Open Zed's settings file,
~/.config/zed/settings.json(on Windows%APPDATA%\Zed\settings.json), or.zed/settings.jsonfor one project. - Add this block. If the file already has
context_servers, add only the entry inside it.
{
"context_servers": {
"vericto-proxy": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "docker.io/vericto/vericto-proxy:5.0.0@sha256:4cec9c42f94946a6e0509192b89b63bd71450a7f27088496b034c9dd76791fa9", "/usr/local/bin/vericto-proxy", "mcp", "--database-url-file", "/run/secrets/db.url"]
}
}
} - Save the file. Zed starts the server, and Settings › AI › MCP Servers lists it.
Check it worked
Ask Zed: List the tools of vericto-proxy.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart Zed.
- Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
