About plug.directory
A directory of MCP servers: find one that does what you need, see what it offers, and install it in your client in a few moves.
Where the data comes from
-
The Official MCP Registry: every server its publishers registered there, synced every hour.
-
Public package registries (npm, PyPI, Docker Hub, crates.io, NuGet and others): the packages that declare an MCP server, and their download counts where the registry publishes them.
-
Curated catalogues such as GitHub's MCP registry and Docker's MCP catalogue.
-
OSV.dev and deps.dev: known advisories for the package versions a server ships.
The install configs are written from what each publisher states. Directory sites are read only to find servers; their own texts are never shown here.
What it does not do yet
We do not start the servers ourselves yet, so no page says whether a server works. Until our own checks run, server pages stay out of search engines. How we rank lists what decides the order today.
Use it from your own tools
- The plug.directory MCP server: search and install from inside your client.
- The read API, including a drop-in for the Official MCP Registry's API.
- The monthly data export of the whole catalogue.
