Install Vericto Proxy mode (local, PostgreSQL) in Codex
What you need first
- Codex, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with.
Steps
- Run this in a terminal. It writes the server into
~/.codex/config.toml, which the Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share.
codex mcp add vericto-proxy -- docker run -i --rm docker.io/vericto/vericto-proxy:5.0.0@sha256:4cec9c42f94946a6e0509192b89b63bd71450a7f27088496b034c9dd76791fa9 /usr/local/bin/vericto-proxy mcp --database-url-file /run/secrets/db.url - Start Codex again and type
/mcp: the server is listed.
Check it worked
Ask Codex: List the tools of vericto-proxy.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart Codex.
