Install Salesforce in Kiro CLI
What you need first
- Kiro CLI, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_AUTH_MODE,YOUR_SALESFORCE_CLIENT_ID,YOUR_SALESFORCE_CLIENT_SECRET,YOUR_SALESFORCE_INSTANCE_URL.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.

YOUR_AUTH_MODE,YOUR_SALESFORCE_CLIENT_ID,YOUR_SALESFORCE_CLIENT_SECRET,YOUR_SALESFORCE_INSTANCE_URLwith your own values. - Save the file and restart Kiro CLI.
Check it worked
Ask Kiro CLI: List the tools of salesforce-mcp.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart Kiro CLI.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
