Install Odoo MCP in Claude Code

What you need first

  • Claude Code, installed.
  • uv, which gives the uvx command the server starts with.
  • Your own values for YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_URL,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_DATABASE,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_USERNAME,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_API_KEY,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ALLOWED_COMPANY_IDS,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_DEFAULT_COMPANY_ID,YOUR_CONFIG.

Steps

  1. Run this in a terminal, in the project folder. It adds the server for you in that project; put --scope user after claude mcp add to have it in every project.
claude mcp add --env ODOO_MCP_ODOO_URL=YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_URL --env ODOO_MCP_ODOO_DATABASE=YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_DATABASE --env ODOO_MCP_ODOO_USERNAME=YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_USERNAME --env ODOO_MCP_ODOO_API_KEY=YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_API_KEY --env ODOO_MCP_ALLOWED_COMPANY_IDS=YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ALLOWED_COMPANY_IDS --env ODOO_MCP_DEFAULT_COMPANY_ID=YOUR_ODOO_MCP_DEFAULT_COMPANY_ID --transport stdio odoo-mcp -- uvx odoo-erp-mcp==0.3.0 --config YOUR_CONFIG
  1. Replace YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_URL,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_DATABASE,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_USERNAME,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ODOO_API_KEY,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_ALLOWED_COMPANY_IDS,YOUR_ODOO_MCP_DEFAULT_COMPANY_ID,YOUR_CONFIG with your own values.
  2. Start Claude Code and type /mcp: the server is listed with its state.

Check it worked

Ask Claude Code: List the tools of odoo-mcp.

If it does not start

spawn uvx ENOENT
uv is not on the PATH that Claude Code sees. Install it, or write the full path of uvx in the config.
The server starts, but its tools fail
A YOUR_… placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong.
