Install Cloudinary Asset Management in Goose

What you need first

  • Goose, installed.
  • Nothing else: the server runs on its publisher's machines and Goose connects to it.
  • Your own values for YOUR_CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_KEY,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET.

Steps

  1. Open ~/.config/goose/config.yaml. On Windows it is %APPDATA%\Block\goose\config\config.yaml.
  2. Add this entry. If the file already has extensions, add only the entry inside it.
extensions:
  "asset-management-mcp":
    type: streamable_http
    name: "asset-management-mcp"
    enabled: true
    uri: "https://asset-management.mcp.cloudinary.com/mcp"
    headers: { "cloudinary-cloud-name": "YOUR_CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME", "cloudinary-api-key": "YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_KEY", "cloudinary-api-secret": "YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET" }
    env_keys: []
    envs: {}
    timeout: 300
  1. Replace YOUR_CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_KEY,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET with your own values.
  2. Save the file and start a new Goose session.

Check it worked

Ask Goose: List the tools of asset-management-mcp.

If it does not start

401 Unauthorized
The endpoint wants a sign-in or a key. Sign in when Goose asks, or check the value in place of the placeholder.
The server starts, but its tools fail
A YOUR_… placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong.
Nothing changes after a restart
The file is not valid YAML any more. Check that the entry is indented like the lines around it.
