Install Cloudinary Asset Management in Amp
What you need first
- Amp, installed.
- Nothing else: the server runs on its publisher's machines and Amp connects to it.
- Your own values for
YOUR_CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_KEY,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"amp.mcpServers": {
"asset-management-mcp": {
"url": "https://asset-management.mcp.cloudinary.com/mcp",
"headers": { "cloudinary-cloud-name": "YOUR_CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME", "cloudinary-api-key": "YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_KEY", "cloudinary-api-secret": "YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_SECRET" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_CLOUDINARY_CLOUD_NAME,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_KEY,YOUR_CLOUDINARY_API_SECRETwith your own values. - Save the file and restart Amp.
Check it worked
Ask Amp: List the tools of asset-management-mcp.
If it does not start
- 401 Unauthorized
- The endpoint wants a sign-in or a key. Sign in when Amp asks, or check the value in place of the placeholder.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
