Install Memory Vault in TUUI
What you need first
- TUUI, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_DB_HOST,YOUR_DB_PORT,YOUR_DB_NAME,YOUR_DB_USER,YOUR_DB_PASSWORD.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.

}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_DB_HOST,YOUR_DB_PORT,YOUR_DB_NAME,YOUR_DB_USER,YOUR_DB_PASSWORDwith your own values. - Save the file and restart TUUI.
Check it worked
Ask TUUI: List the tools of memory-vault.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart TUUI.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
