Install Zactonz in Cline
What you need first
- Cline, installed.
- Node.js, which
gives the
npxcommand the server starts with. - Your own value for
YOUR_ZACTONZ_API_KEYS.
Steps
- In Cline, open the MCP Servers icon, then the Configure tab, and choose Configure MCP Servers.
It opens
cline_mcp_settings.json. - Add this block. If the file already has
mcpServers, add only the entry inside it.
{
"mcpServers": {
"zactonz-mcp": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["-y", "@zactonz/[email protected]"],
"env": { "ZACTONZ_API_KEYS": "YOUR_ZACTONZ_API_KEYS" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_ZACTONZ_API_KEYSwith your own value. - Save the file. Cline reloads it and lists the server under MCP Servers.
Check it worked
Ask Cline: List the tools of zactonz-mcp.
If it does not start
- spawn npx ENOENT
- Node.js is not on the PATH that Cline sees. Install it, or write the
full path of
npxin the config. - The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
