Install IT Glue in Kiro
What you need first
- Kiro, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with. - Your own value for
YOUR_ITGLUE_API_KEY.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"itglue-mcp": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "-e", "ITGLUE_API_KEY", "ghcr.io/wyre-technology/itglue-mcp:v1.16.3"],
"env": { "ITGLUE_API_KEY": "YOUR_ITGLUE_API_KEY" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_ITGLUE_API_KEYwith your own value. - Save the file and restart Kiro.
Check it worked
Ask Kiro: List the tools of itglue-mcp.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart Kiro.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
