Install HaloPSA in mcp-client-cli
What you need first
- mcp-client-cli, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_HALOPSA_CLIENT_ID,YOUR_HALOPSA_CLIENT_SECRET.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"halopsa-mcp": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "-e", "HALOPSA_CLIENT_ID", "-e", "HALOPSA_CLIENT_SECRET", "ghcr.io/wyre-technology/halopsa-mcp:v1.7.11"],
"env": { "HALOPSA_CLIENT_ID": "YOUR_HALOPSA_CLIENT_ID", "HALOPSA_CLIENT_SECRET": "YOUR_HALOPSA_CLIENT_SECRET" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_HALOPSA_CLIENT_ID,YOUR_HALOPSA_CLIENT_SECRETwith your own values. - Save the file and restart mcp-client-cli.
Check it worked
Ask mcp-client-cli: List the tools of halopsa-mcp.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart mcp-client-cli.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
