Install Tiger MCP in BoltAI
What you need first
- BoltAI, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_TIGER_PUBLIC_KEY,YOUR_TIGER_SECRET_KEY.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"tiger-cli": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "-e", "TIGER_PUBLIC_KEY", "-e", "TIGER_SECRET_KEY", "ghcr.io/timescale/tiger-cli:0.26.0"],
"env": { "TIGER_PUBLIC_KEY": "YOUR_TIGER_PUBLIC_KEY", "TIGER_SECRET_KEY": "YOUR_TIGER_SECRET_KEY" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_TIGER_PUBLIC_KEY,YOUR_TIGER_SECRET_KEYwith your own values. - Save the file and restart BoltAI.
Check it worked
Ask BoltAI: List the tools of tiger-cli.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart BoltAI.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
