Install Pursers in Devin Desktop
What you need first
- Devin Desktop, installed.
- uv, which
gives the
uvxcommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_CENTRAL_URL,YOUR_BOARD_ID,YOUR_TOKEN_FILE.
Steps
- Open
~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json, or create it. On Windows it is%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json. - Add this block. If the file already has
mcpServers, add only the entry inside it.
{
"mcpServers": {

"args": ["pursers-client==0.1.9", "pursers-mcp", "--central-url", "YOUR_CENTRAL_URL", "--board", "YOUR_BOARD_ID", "--token-file", "YOUR_TOKEN_FILE"]
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_CENTRAL_URL,YOUR_BOARD_ID,YOUR_TOKEN_FILEwith your own values. - Save the file and restart Devin Desktop.
Check it worked
Ask Devin Desktop: List the tools of pursers.
If it does not start
- spawn uvx ENOENT
- uv is not on the PATH that Devin Desktop sees. Install it, or write the
full path of
uvxin the config. - The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
