Install LinkedIn MCP Server in oterm
What you need first
- oterm, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"linkedin-mcp-server": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "ghcr.io/prakharagarwal-dev/linkedin-mcp-server:0.16.0", "serve", "--transport", "stdio"]
}
}
} - Save the file and restart oterm.
Check it worked
Ask oterm: List the tools of linkedin-mcp-server.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart oterm.
- Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
