Install Slack Lists in Bob Shell
What you need first
- Bob Shell, installed.
- uv, which
gives the
uvxcommand the server starts with. - Your own value for
YOUR_SLACK_BOT_TOKEN.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"slack-lists-mcp": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": ["ars-slack-lists-mcp==1.1.0"],
"env": { "SLACK_BOT_TOKEN": "YOUR_SLACK_BOT_TOKEN" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_SLACK_BOT_TOKENwith your own value. - Save the file and restart Bob Shell.
Check it worked
Ask Bob Shell: List the tools of slack-lists-mcp.
If it does not start
- spawn uvx ENOENT
- uv is not on the PATH that Bob Shell sees. Install it, or write the
full path of
uvxin the config. - The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
