Install Sonar MCP Server in TUUI

What you need first

  • TUUI, installed.
  • Docker, which gives the docker command the server starts with.
  • Your own values for YOUR_SONAR_URL,YOUR_SONAR_TOKEN.

Steps

  1. Open ~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file.
  2. Add this table at the end of the file.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "sonar-mcp-server": {
      "command": "docker",
      "args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "-e", "SONAR_URL", "-e", "SONAR_TOKEN", "ghcr.io/igorolv/sonar-mcp-server:0.1.0"],
      "env": { "SONAR_URL": "YOUR_SONAR_URL", "SONAR_TOKEN": "YOUR_SONAR_TOKEN" }
    }
  }
}
  1. Replace YOUR_SONAR_URL,YOUR_SONAR_TOKEN with your own values.
  2. Save the file and restart TUUI.

Check it worked

Ask TUUI: List the tools of sonar-mcp-server.

If it does not start

Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
Docker is not running. Start it, then restart TUUI.
The server starts, but its tools fail
A YOUR_… placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong.
Nothing changes after a restart
The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
