Install MCP Superset in Kiro CLI
What you need first
- Kiro CLI, installed.
- uv, which
gives the
uvxcommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_SUPERSET_BASE_URL,YOUR_SUPERSET_USERNAME,YOUR_SUPERSET_PASSWORD.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"mcp-superset": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": ["mcp-superset==0.2.3"],
"env": { "SUPERSET_BASE_URL": "YOUR_SUPERSET_BASE_URL", "SUPERSET_USERNAME": "YOUR_SUPERSET_USERNAME", "SUPERSET_PASSWORD": "YOUR_SUPERSET_PASSWORD" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_SUPERSET_BASE_URL,YOUR_SUPERSET_USERNAME,YOUR_SUPERSET_PASSWORDwith your own values. - Save the file and restart Kiro CLI.
Check it worked
Ask Kiro CLI: List the tools of mcp-superset.
If it does not start
- spawn uvx ENOENT
- uv is not on the PATH that Kiro CLI sees. Install it, or write the
full path of
uvxin the config. - The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
