Install mcp/aws-appsync-mcp-server in Continue

What you need first

• Continue, installed.
• Docker, which gives the docker command the server starts with.

Steps

1. Open ~/.continue/config.yaml. On Windows it is %USERPROFILE%\.continue\config.yaml.
2. Add this entry. If the file already has mcpServers, add only the item from - name on.

  - name: "mcp-aws-appsync-mcp-server"
    type: stdio
    command: "docker"
    args:
      - "run"
      - "-i"
      - "--rm"
      - "docker.io/mcp/aws-appsync-mcp-server"

3. Save the file and restart Continue.

Check it worked

Ask Continue: List the tools of mcp-aws-appsync-mcp-server.

If it does not start

Cannot connect to the Docker daemon

Docker is not running. Start it, then restart Continue.

Nothing changes after a restart

The file is not valid YAML any more. Check that the entry is indented like the lines around it.
