What you need first

gives the
uvxcommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_CHATWOOT_URL,YOUR_CHATWOOT_ACCOUNT,YOUR_CHATWOOT_TOKEN.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"amp.mcpServers": {
"chatwoot-mcp": {
"command": "uvx",
"args": ["mojood-chatwoot-mcp==0.1.0", "--stdio"],
"env": { "CHATWOOT_URL": "YOUR_CHATWOOT_URL", "CHATWOOT_ACCOUNT": "YOUR_CHATWOOT_ACCOUNT", "CHATWOOT_TOKEN": "YOUR_CHATWOOT_TOKEN" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_CHATWOOT_URL,YOUR_CHATWOOT_ACCOUNT,YOUR_CHATWOOT_TOKENwith your own values. - Save the file and restart Amp.
Check it worked
Ask Amp: List the tools of chatwoot-mcp.
If it does not start
- spawn uvx ENOENT
- uv is not on the PATH that Amp sees. Install it, or write the
full path of
uvxin the config. - The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
