Install Action1 in oterm
What you need first
- oterm, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with. - Your own values for
YOUR_ACTION1_API_KEY,YOUR_ACTION1_SECRET.
Steps
- Open
~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file. - Add this table at the end of the file.
{
"mcpServers": {
"action1-mcp": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "-e", "ACTION1_API_KEY", "-e", "ACTION1_SECRET", "ghcr.io/wyre-ai/action1-mcp:v1.1.9"],
"env": { "ACTION1_API_KEY": "YOUR_ACTION1_API_KEY", "ACTION1_SECRET": "YOUR_ACTION1_SECRET" }
}
}
} - Replace
YOUR_ACTION1_API_KEY,YOUR_ACTION1_SECRETwith your own values. - Save the file and restart oterm.
Check it worked
Ask oterm: List the tools of action1-mcp.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart oterm.
- The server starts, but its tools fail
- A
YOUR_…placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong. - Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
