Install Oriel in Devin Desktop
What you need first
- Devin Desktop, installed.
- Docker, which
gives the
dockercommand the server starts with.
Steps
- Open
~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json, or create it. On Windows it is%APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json. - Add this block. If the file already has
mcpServers, add only the entry inside it.
{
"mcpServers": {
"oriel": {
"command": "docker",
"args": ["run", "-i", "--rm", "ghcr.io/paradoxinfinite/oriel:0.7.0"]
}
}
} - Save the file and restart Devin Desktop.
Check it worked
Ask Devin Desktop: List the tools of oriel.
If it does not start
- Cannot connect to the Docker daemon
- Docker is not running. Start it, then restart Devin Desktop.
- Nothing changes after a restart
- The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
