Install Mailoo in Kiro

What you need first

  • Kiro, installed.
  • Node.js, which gives the npx command the server starts with.
  • Your own values for YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_ADDRESS,YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_IMAP_HOST,YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_SMTP_HOST.

Steps

  1. Open ~/.codex/config.toml, or create it. The Codex CLI, its IDE extension and the ChatGPT desktop app share this file.
  2. Add this table at the end of the file.
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "mailoo": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@bitfloo/[email protected]"],
      "env": { "MCP_EMAIL_ADDRESS": "YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_ADDRESS", "MCP_EMAIL_IMAP_HOST": "YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_IMAP_HOST", "MCP_EMAIL_SMTP_HOST": "YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_SMTP_HOST" }
    }
  }
}
  1. Replace YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_ADDRESS,YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_IMAP_HOST,YOUR_MCP_EMAIL_SMTP_HOST with your own values.
  2. Save the file and restart Kiro.

Check it worked

Ask Kiro: List the tools of mailoo.

If it does not start

spawn npx ENOENT
Node.js is not on the PATH that Kiro sees. Install it, or write the full path of npx in the config.
The server starts, but its tools fail
A YOUR_… placeholder is still in the config, or its value is wrong.
Nothing changes after a restart
The file is not valid JSON any more. Look for a missing comma where the block was added.
