What you need first
- Claude Desktop, installed.
- Nothing else: the server runs on its publisher's machines and Claude Desktop connects to it.
Steps
- In Claude Desktop, open Settings › Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Give it a name and paste this URL:
https://modevc.com/api/mcp/chart-open-source-vs-closed-ai-models-gap- If the server asks you to sign in, Claude Desktop opens its sign-in page.

If it does not start
- 401 Unauthorized
