Connect to the publisher's own endpoint

Run in a terminal:

codex mcp add scroll-lens --url https://sharpmeow-scroll-lens.hf.space/gradio_api/mcp/sse

This server's endpoint speaks only SSE, which this client's documentation does not list among its transports; use another client for it.

For agents: the install prompt

# Install the MCP server Scroll Lens (`co.huggingface.sharpmeow/scroll-lens`)

Its page: https://plug.directory/servers/co.huggingface.sharpmeow/scroll-lens

It runs on the publisher's servers; the client connects to its URL.

Use the section for the person's client.

## Claude Desktop

Paste into Settings › Connectors › Add custom connector:

```text
https://sharpmeow-scroll-lens.hf.space/gradio_api/mcp/sse
```

## Claude Code

Run in a terminal:

```sh
claude mcp add --transport sse scroll-lens https://sharpmeow-scroll-lens.hf.space/gradio_api/mcp/sse
    }
  }
}
```

Then restart the client, or reload its MCP servers, and ask it to list the server's tools to confirm it started.

Tools 7

  • scroll_lens_download_cube Get a cube's model outputs as arrays: a .npz with the 3D DINO embeddings (float16, one 864-number unit vector per 8³ patch), the 3D ink and recto surface probabilities (uint8 per voxel) and the receipt (JSON). Name the cube as in inspect_cube. Read it with numpy.load(allow_pickle=False), or lens.load_npz from the Space's files.
  • scroll_lens_inspect_cube Look at one cube: three slice views through a point, with model overlays, and the cube's numbers.
  • scroll_lens_list_gallery List the ready-made gallery cubes. Inspecting or searching a gallery cube needs no GPU.
  • scroll_lens_list_scans List the twelve scans Scroll Lens can read, with their size and what each model saw of them in training.
  • scroll_lens_look For batch scripts: run the models on the cube around a point and return its .npz (see lens.save_npz). Uses the caller's ZeroGPU time; tools/build_gallery.py builds the gallery with it. Returns: The .npz file.
  • scroll_lens_random_point Pick a point on the papyrus of a scan (a window around it is at least 90% inside the scroll mask).
  • scroll_lens_search_cube Search a cube for places like some examples: the organizers' recipe, done by clicking on the page. If a user passes a file as an input, use the upload_file_to_gradio tool, if present, to upload the file to the gradio app and create a Gradio File Input. Then use the returned path as the input to the tool
