Find servers for Continue Official site

Continue is an open-source coding agent for developers, shipped as a VS Code extension, a JetBrains plugin and a command-line tool. MCP tools work only in its agent mode. Servers are declared under mcpServers in the config file or as YAML or JSON files in a .continue/mcpServers folder, over stdio, SSE or Streamable HTTP. The repository is now read-only after Cursor acquired the company.

How to add a server to Continue

  1. Find the server you want on plug.directory and open its page.
  2. In its install block, pick Continue. The block shows the config and where it goes.
  3. Put the config in ~/.continue/config.yaml. Then check the server's tools in Continue, as its docs describe.

For example, Azure MCP Server, one of the top ranked servers that work in Continue, goes in ~/.continue/config.yaml:

mcpServers:
  - name: "azure"
    type: stdio
    command: "npx"
    args:
      - "-y"
      - "@azure/[email protected]"
      - "server"
